v3 latest beta - mode LEDs

Hi.
 
Just upgraded to the latest V3 firmware on the site (beta 13).
 
Small point, the upper mode / step mode LEDs seem only configurable to VU
mode during play?
 
Is this true, or have I just forgotton how to switch them - pressing step
mode during play used to switch them i think?
