V4 replaced playlists with multi-bar patterns.
There is a fair degree of commonality between what you can do with these,
though as has been pointed out to me by fans of playlists, they had an
advantage in the speed with which you could try out different arrangements
of bars in a pattern. A playlist lets you use the same bar (pattern) in more
than one position.
For a v4 pattern, you have to make copies of one bar to use it elsewhere.

I have to admit, I can't really remember the differences between 4 and 4.5,
I've been working on Cirklon too long...
I don't actually have a functional P3 here to look at, but I can pull one
out and replace whatever bits got borrowed.

If there are any specific questions you have, just ask them here, and I'll
pick them up when I can.
