Yesss! I was thinking exactly to make a post about that, in the spirit of "eliminate all computers when possible", while I was stupidly and unsuccesfully trying to sysex-dump some seqs I've had made using the internal seq of the futureretro777, to the Cirklon. And the same about other samplers/seqs/things I'm planning to attach to it. Instead of using a pc for saving/recalling sysexes from/to synths/seqs, lets use the Cirklon, already attached to them! --- In analogue-sequencer@yahoogroups.com, "Colin f" <colin@...> wrote: > > > > I've loads of Sysex patch banks on my computer which i send > > via a Sysex dump program to my various synths when working > > with my DAW. > > Is it possible to do the same with Cirklon, and have all the > > sysex banks stored in memory (and upon power down) , call up > > the sysex bank list and to send a selected sysex patch bank > > to any synth connected to Cirklon? > > There isn't any sysex handling of that sort. > Sysex dumps eat memory rapidly, so if I do add this sort of thing, it would > be reading and writing .SYX files to the SD-card or internal flash, rather > than main memory. > That wouldn't make any practical difference to the user - SD-card is much > faster than MIDI. > There is already code for reading and writing Cirklon's own data in .SYX > format, so suppose it should be pretty easy to add a MIDI librarian thing at > some point. > > Cheers, > Colin >
