New list / Current status of p3 PCBs

I've started this group to keep interested parties informed of the availability of PCBs & pre-programmed CPUs, and later full kits, for my analogue-style midi sequencer project. Fuller details of this are at http://www.colinfraser.com/p3/p3.htm This should make it much easier for me than sending multiple emails to a long list of people over my crappy dial-up net access. Current status of the PCBs is that I'm very nearly done with the final layout for the double-sided boards. I've had a bit of a learning curve with the schematic capture (never having used it before thru sheer laziness) but I've now got it sussed, so I can do automated design checking of the PCB based on the schematic as I lay it out. The PCB package I'm using has a truly awful auto-router, so it's all going to be done by hand ! I should get this finished later this week, and will order a one-off prototype board to test. If that board works out, I'll be taking orders for boards & pre-programmed CPU packages. The one-off board is going to cost me roughly $100 / 65 ukp. The larger run of boards should reduce this cost, but I won't know by how much until I get a quote based on the number of firm orders for boards. Cheers, Colin f
