So, periodically, I see people make reference to getting pre-built P3s. How does one go about this? In particular, what does one do in the United States? Reading this group has made me really want to connect a P3 to my Microwave XT. Thanks. Mark

Reading this group has made me really want to connect > a P3 to my > Microwave XT. At the moment, production of ready-built P3s is severely limited by my spare time, and the rate I can get the cases made. I hope to have a small number available again soon, but these are likely to be the last I assemble myself. If you'd like one of these, drop me a mail privately, and I'll put your name on the aptly-named 'waiting list'. I didn't intend to mass-produce P3 when I started out - it was just going to be something for my own use. A couple of friends had me build them units, which was way too much effort as I was etching the PCBs myself, so it seemed like a good idea to get proper PCBs made. Selling a few kits to like-minded Synth-DIYers was a good way to get the unit cost of the PCBs down. Next thing I know, I'm shipping out serial number sixty-odd, without really promoting it at all. The positive feedback I've had so far has convinced me there's a market for P3, so now I have to consider 'doing it properly'. I'm presently looking into having a contract engineering firm manufacture a custom designed case for P3. I have an Autocad expert lined up to do the CAD work for this. The engineering firm also have the capacity to manufacture and populate the PCBs, so if the costs for this are realistic, I hope to have a batch of ready-built P3s made sometime in the next couple of months, which I'll sell via my website. The only difference your location makes will be the shipping costs - insured shipping of a P3 to the US costs around 40 ukp. I will still be selling the kits, and may also sell empty cases along with the kits to keep the total cost down for DIYers, but give a professional look to self-built units. Cheers, Colin f
