Remote control?

Remote control?

2004-06-13 by philsmillie@yahoo.com

Hi Colin,
I've just had my first demo of the P3 and after i'd picked my jaw up
off the floor and scraped the top of my head of the ceiling (sorry
bout the mess Paul!) I resisted the temptation to run away quickly
and finish mine (it will be done!) and had a think about the way i'd
integrate it within my system and play it.
As a midi guitarist it would be cool to be able to remote control
aspects of the P3, start/stop, track mutes, pattern select etc.
Would it be possible to use some of the lowest or highest note
numbers to do this? This could of course lead to P3 controling P3 and
many other insane options!
Regards,
Phil

This is something that's been suggested before.
There are two ways I can think of to achieve this in a way that would
suit you.
The easiest would be to extend the key/LED bus to an external connector,
and make a guitar effect style floor box that replicates the P3s
controls. That would probably cause other guitarists to run away
screaming. Which would be nice ;-)

The other way would be to add midi controllers for the main UI
functions, or possibly note numbers for these functions assigned on a
specified control channel.
I'll keep it in mind, and see if I've got the space once the rest of the
TBI is done.

Cheers,
Colin f

Suits me Sir ? Ooooo... ;-)

I just put my trainers on and i'm about to set off down the road
screaming!
I already have a Yamaha MFC-10, Two controller pedals and a hold
footswitch down there... no room for any more... and besides.. i've
run out of feet!
No.. actually, I could see where that could fit in very nicely, I'd
like to have a go at building something like that... after i've
finished my P3!!

This would be more convenient for me but i'm just a twisted reprobate
of a plank spanker so i'll take my place in the queue behind the
drummer. :-|

No problem.. I got enough to keep me busy for the time being anyway!

Thanks!
It could just be my typically Northern English self-deprecating sense
of humour but actually... it's the truth... you've not heard me play
yet! ;-)
