909 sync problem

909 sync problem

2004-07-03 by Hans Greuber

Hi;

I got another problem;

I always played the P3 as a master and the 909 as a slave, but I have
realized that If it played low pitch notes ,some drums were triggered.

I tried to sync the 909 with the sync 24 ,as I used to to from the MC-202 to
the 909 but it didn´t work out.

I think it hasn´t been implemented in the P3 as the manual doesn´t mention
it.909 midi´s receives in OMNY mode , so changing the pattern channel and
the synth channel won´t work.

What should I do?

Sorry if I look dumb again with my questions, but it seems like relearning
everything from scracht.

Best;

Hans

I sync my 303 and 808 to my P3, so it should be working...
One way to check a DIN sync output is to stick a spare tri-colour LED in
there.
The middle LED lead goes into the middle hole in the DIN socket, and the
two outer LED leads go into the two outer DIN holes (easy!).
The clock signal should make one colour in the LED flash, and the other
colour will come on when the run line is on.
I have a DIN sync tested made from a 5 pin DIN plug with an LED soldered
in so that it pokes out of the strain relief.

You can switch your 909 to receive on a single channel. I have this
problem whenever my mate's 909 pays me a visit...
In 909 track play mode, hold SHUFFLE/FLAM and press the step key for the
midi channel you want. The default is '0' = omni.

-Hi;

I can´t sync the TR-909 via midi with the P3, I had a problem ,it was  that=
 the
sequencer triggered some drums but I changed the default omni mode.

I want the 909 to run in sync when I press the run /stop buttons on the P3=
 . I
been working this way with the Doepfer MAQ before,but the 909 doesn´t run =

here.So it seems the P3 doesn´t send midi clock

What am I doing wrong?

thanks;

Hans
