In the random and brownian direction modes, a separate count of the number
of steps played is held. The pattern is considered to have 'wrapped' when
the number of steps played is equal to the number of unskipped steps in the
pattern, at which point the count is reset and a playlist repeat counted if
chg=P.

I take you don't just mean other forms of mask, but events configured to
occur as soon as a condition is met ?
Not a bad idea for P4...

Ah, clever.

Exactly. And you might not easily predict when that condition is met
depending on how the values are generated, so it would be a way to
make things that are actually (semi) random seem composed.
