not sure whether either of these are near your problem, but..

I have a similar problem with my project ( I won't do a shameless
plug ). I get the same double clock symptoms on my sequencer (QY20)
which I use as a drum machine.

I connect my arpeggi8 (oops) in line with my master keyboard and when
I hit go the clock runs at double speed. When I unplug the midi in
everything is OK. Turns out as well as sending running status and
every other midi message it also defaults to sending midi clock -
despite the keyboard having no internal sequencer.

So basically I am somehow merging the two clocks and sending them out
at twice the rate. I can get around this by reading the keyboard
manual and setting clock to external.

I can also replicate the problem by making a loop using the PC midi
in/out and not turning midi sync/clock off/external in the midi
device setting. Whilst not sending notes around in the loop I can
double the clock speed.

hope this helps.

cheers
