Parcel arrived in Cologne

Parcel arrived in Cologne

2003-08-14 by Stoffel

Hi there,

this morning the parcel arrived here in Cologne. I didn't expect it so
soon. Once again, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.
Hope I manage to assemble it, I'll start next week, as we have the popkomm
here this weekend (a huge music-trade / festival), which means going to a
lot of concerts. So i guess, i might be the last to get this thing running.

Best wishes,
Stoffel

3 or 4 days seems to be about normal for a shipment to Europe.
I've not had that many emails confirming delivery, so maybe most are just
arriving today.
Anyone in the US got their boards yet ?
Probably not...

Full kits

2003-08-14 by Colin f

Folks,

I've been asked about the possibility of supplying parts kits for the
sequencers.
I have experimentally put a couple of complete sets of components
together, but it took up a lot more time than I expected.
I think the Oakley Sound approach of offering just the hard to find parts
might be the best bet.

For UK builders, nearly all the parts can be had from Rapid Electronics,
who will take credit card orders over the phone. The remaining parts can
be bought from Farnell and Maplin, who both have online ordering
facilities.
It doesn't make much sense for me to supply parts kits for UK buyers then,
as it doesn't make things much easier, is very time consuming, and I have
to charge a reasonable rate for my limited free time.

For overseas builders, I'm not so sure about the sources of parts - but
given the cost of shipping, and the possibility of having to pay import
duty on kits, again it's going to make more sense for people to get parts
locally where possible.

If anyone has any trouble finding the right parts, post a message to the
group, and I'm sure there will be at least one other P3 builder in your
country who may be able to help.
Unless you live in Switzerland, in which case you have the only P3 in the
country ;-)

If anyone gets totally stuck, let me know, and I'll see what I can do.

Cheers,
Colin f
