Why four colours of knobs ?

Why four colours of knobs ?

2005-02-18 by jitterbugbite2003

Hi guys,

Just wondering. Why are there in almost every design of the P3 four
different colours of knobs for the pots used. Does that have a special
reason, other than marking four groups of four, instead of a more
obscure row of 16 ?

reaaly looking forward to receiving the kit...snd start building my P3

I used a more subdued two colour system on mine, although still sticking
to the banks of four on the main pitch/velocity knobs.

I used white and grey lines on the usual soft feel black knobs. No
reason really other than I liked the look.

It's just a matter of personal preference.
Groups of colours help divide the 16 into the usual 4 beats.
Choice of colours is up to yourself. Some people have them all the one
colour, some have every step a different colour to the next.

ok, that's what I thought.

(To Colin: I was just wondering wether you received my mail,
concerning the order/payment for two kits. I don't want to rush you or
anything, but I'm just asking because we've experienced some
mailserver problems here, and sending mails was troublesome and I
wanted to make sure you got my mail...

cheers,

niels

I went for all red, the knobs are the same as the one colin uses, but they all
have the same red pointer on. All my 'mode' LEDs are red aswell. I wanted a
consistant look.
