US kit builders.. Jameco for the odd IC's.

Any US kit builders still out there.. ?

along with Digikey,
Jameco also has
the 62256 SRAM IC's. 70ns Hitachi's I believe.. (Colin is there a
specific model of this RAM that P3 calls for?)
the DS1210 ram backup IC,
the ADC0804,
and 6N137's (Mousers out it seems)

STILL looking for (US sourced)
Multimec switches and caps,
alpha PCB mount 16mm splined shaft pots 4.7 or 5k linear..
correct knobs,
correct DIN jacks.

Rapid (in UK) has a 500 UKP minimum order if its going overseas !
Farnell's got a few of these items but Im not too keen on placing
multiple overseas orders.. building a kit was to save a few $$
afterall!!

anyone got any leads on these hardware parts??
thanks alot
happy tweaking,
~Steve

not gonna find 'em. i ended up just paying colin for them. i couldn't find
appropriately sized switch caps for the standard tact switches we can get
here for the life of me.

check the US BOM in the yahoo files section, i believe it is in the
archive folder because it does not reflect the recent changes. however,
the parts you mention *are* listed in that BOM and are available from
mouser. the only difference is you will probably need more DIN jacks...
the old US BOM lists a quantity of three.

bleep.
out.

Seems like these are hard to find stateside, so in future I'll include them
with the production keyswitch option.
This'll only put the price up by a quid or so.

Thanks for the info Fred.

Steve, your kit was just shipping out today, so I can throw in the Multimec
switches before it goes.

There was some talk about updating the US BOM.

I'm actually waiting for that update before confirming my order of the kit and
keycaps from Colin - I want to make sure I can get everything on this side of
the pond (I'm in Canada) before going ahead.

Any news on it's progress?

Paul

Heh heh,

thanks, bleep.

I see Colin has updated his P3 assembly pages. I suspect he's pretty busy right
now!

cheers,
paul
