MIDI & Aux ABCD assignments?

MIDI & Aux ABCD assignments?

2005-05-23 by srmaietta

Hello, is there a list somewhere of all the possible aux assignments?
For example, can I set aux A to send aftertouch or modwheel values? Or
are they just for CC's and the aux events?

One other question this time regarding MIDI channels. Its not too
clear with just a manual at this point, but how are the MIDI channels
assigned? Per Pattern?

thanks

There is a list on page 52 of the manual - I think it's reasonably up
to date - it isn't totally complete though.

Mod wheel is CC1. You can send Aftertouch too and any MIDI CC. The Aux
events are P3's internal events such as "mute track", "set last step",
"randomise note" etc.

Per track. So you can freely set channels for all 8 tracks plus you
can use an aux event to override an individual step or steps and route
them to any of the 16 channels.

Just to expand a little...

Note that aftertouch, pitch bend and midi program change are at the very top
of the list of events, rather than being in with the CCs.

You can choose whether the same midi channel assignments for the 8 tracks
apply to all banks, or you can turn on the user config option 'mchans per
bank' to have channel selection stored separately for each bank.

I will get the manual updated soon, I've been kind of bogged down in the
process of learning how to manage the company accounts, and exciting stuff
like that...
