My First P3 gig

My First P3 gig

2005-06-03 by jimcombsus

Well, just back at the hotel here in Chapel Hill, NC after my first
gig with the P3. We played one set of about 65 minutes and the P3
figured large in 3 sections of the set (we play non-stop and improvise
around themes).

My setup is the P3 driving a Electribe ER-1, Roland SH-32, and my
Lexicon Jamman, plus a Roland JD-800 which is played in combo with the
Jamman.

The sequences I worked up over the past week worked well, and I was
able to navigate the basics to get the right balance of repetition and
change; switching banks, switching parts, editing patterns. This is my
first time to MIDI slave my Jamman to something, and having the
looping capability along side the P3 with totally different sounds
than the P3 is driving was a cool last minute discovery.

We're off to Philadelphia bright and early to enjoy electro-music 2005
and get ready for our Saturday night performance. If Gert is bringing
his P3, we'll have a couple on display for the concerts.

Later!
