Question for the Dutch members

2003-09-24 by Boele Gerkes

Hi,

Just joined this list because I am seriously interested in Colin's
nice P3 sequencer.

My question: does any Dutch person on this list would be
prepared to show me his finished P3? I really would like to see it
in real life and chat a little about building it.

I live in Zutphen. I am prepared to visit someone or receive you at
my place.

Thanks,

Boele Gerkes

hi Boele,
speaking for myself; not a problem! i don't think Roel would mind
either though..both he and i live in Brabant; i'm in Eindhoven to be
precise. it'd probably be easiest to demonstrate the p3 with my own
gear, as i know what's what then. so you could come over sometime,
but i'll also be playing a gig in Den Haag in about 3 weeks time, and
i plan on using only the p3 for a sequencer..
but just send me an email on the address listed here, and we'll talk
further in the mothertongue ;)

grtz Chiel

He great! Thanks for the offer. I will come back to it as soon as my
workschedule gets a bit more normal. That makes three offers then :-))
Maybe I'll visit you all :-)

Thanks again, Boele

Total cost of the p3?

2003-09-26 by Julian

Hi there,

Thinking again about putting down a deposit on the next run of pcbs. Im just wondering as to the total cost. Does anyone have an idea on this?

The pcbs are about £90, and the hammond case about £30. Has there been a solution finalised as to engraving / drilling?

So, that leaves the cost of the parts. Anyone got a total on these? I know i could work it out, but i wondered if anyone else had? (I dont suppose anyone has an excel file that has all the details, to be sent straight to Rapide, have they?)

Colin, how rapidly are the deposits comming in for the next run? ie. what sort of time span are we talking?

cheers, julian

[i feel winter comming arround, and am looking at the inside hobbies again ;) ]

I used Steve Thomas, He charges £28

not an accurate total, as I had a lot of the parts to hand, but about
100UKP (including Display)

Yep. I'd agree with these figures. That's about what it's costing me
too.

Cheers

There are prices on the BoM in the files section.
About 100 quid is my usual estimate.

I'll upload the .xls source of the BoM pdf when I get home...

There are 3 so far, with a couple more possibly on the way.
A number of other people have expressed interest, but I haven't
really pushed for deposits (not much of a salesman), so - if you
want to make it happen sooner, please do.
I only need 10 definite buyers to ensure I can cover most of my
costs if the rest of the boards don't sell. I'm sure they will sell,
but I've got some expensive things going on (new kitchen, wedding
next year...), so I haven't any spare cash to invest up front on a
second run without knowing I can recover it quickly.

Cheers,
Colin f
