Analogue-sequencer

Colin,

Is it possible for you to add a function to enable the P3 to send the
syx for just one bank and likewise receive syx for one bank (and be
able to select which bank the received data would load to?

You can do this using P3Tools. Whilst it might be nice for the P3 to do 
it too, I suppose there's an advantage in letting P3Tools do the 
librarian-type stuff: it saves valuable OS space for sequencing functions.

The plan was to save individual banks  (personally I prefer the 12x4
config) then construct a set dependant upon performance requriements.

Have not tried P3Tools yet (hate using a computer in the studio cos it
takes too much time away from music) - had a quick look at the Tools
manual but couldn't find the relevant info, what is the process?.

P3Tools does make this sort of thing very easy to do.
I don't like computers in the studio either. My PC is not in the same area
as the music gear, but is connected in by some 6m MIDI leads, and only used
for bulk dumping, firmware uploads and MIDI monitoring during development.

The main P3 Tools display is split in two, showing two 'virtual P3 dumps' in
the two halves. You can copy and paste whole banks between them (or whole
tracks, individual parts or patterns).

If you want to compile banks from different saved dumps into a single dump,
you load each source dump into the upper window, then copy  and paste the
required banks into the lower window in the desired order. Then you can dump
the lower window back to P3 and/or save it for later.
The visual clues as to what is in each bank make this easier to work with
too.
