damn!!  tune it down an octave and run it through a triple res filter and i'll bet you have a dynomite Tabla imitation!  sounds like way too much fun.

Nope, doesn't work that way - it's a physical modelling patch, so  
tuning is an approximate concept at best. If I transpose it down an  
octave it sounds like someone drumming on the bonnet of a Ford Cortina.
