I would consider returning the module to the supplier if it does this again.
The LED module's display matrix is driven by row and column outputs of a
controller chip. For a solid line to appear, the corresponding row output
must have activated, and stayed on for a while. There's no way to make it do
this - the display memory is character oriented rather than bit-mapped, so
this behaviour could only be caused by a fault in the module.
