MIDI send vs. MIDI controllers

2006-06-07 by Olivier Tison

what is the difference between the aux event types "MIDI Send" and "MIDI
Controllers" ? the manual is not clear to me (my P3 is still in production
so checking it for myself on the unit is not possible)...

MIDI controllers are all sent using the same MIDI status byte.
There are 128 possible values for controller number.
The 'MIDI send' group covers pitchbend, aftertouch and program change
messages, which all use their own MIDI status bytes, and are not just MIDI
controllers.
