More knobs?

More knobs?

2003-11-04 by Jesper

This may be a silly question - I don't know anything about building sequencers.
I was just wondering if it is possible to include an extra row of knobs
using the boards as they are now?

As it is now, the pot interface can handle 6 sets of 8 pots (the pot
boards are two sets each), plus the two individual pots for tempo and
data. So there's enough capacity for another whole row of sixteen pots,
but the software would need to support the extra pots somehow.
And I'm not convinced that it would actually improve the interface -
considering that the current top row can rotate through 7 different
functions, if both 'top' rows could support any function, it could get
difficult to keep track of what the pots are doing.
I'm open to user feedback, though. The pot boards are pretty easy to
wire up on stripboard.
