My P3 has stalled...

2006-10-31 by kevgall20

Hi there Colin and forum, i'm hoping i can recover my P3 from what
looks like a serious error that happened a while ago. My laptop
seemed to object to my M-Audio Midi patchbay for the first time and
shut down showing the blue screen and error info. re. maudio-usb
including a note on physical memory dump. I was testing out various
sync options between the P3, 8-track & Live re. midi clock/SMPTE/MTC.

Shortly after i went to my P3 to see it's display now reads:

WROTE PAGE 0E10
SEND MORE DATA..

I've tried to perform sysex upgrade and even initialisation on re-
start (even though i don't really want to loose all my data), but
the display will not show anything but the above message.

I updated to 1.3.006c when i got the machine and also performed the
bootloader fix suggested. Serial is 2020.

I'm thinking the pc dump has been transmitted via USB to the P3 and
caused it to stall. Though even if this is right, i don't know how i
can fix it?!

Any help is much appreciated.

Cheers,
Kev.

Does it go straight to that display when you power up ?
That would suggest the bootloader itself has been corrupted.

Hi Colin, yes it goes straight to that on power up
though i've just tried again and display reads
slightly different but still frozen:

WROTE PAGE 0A10
SEND MORE DATA

I wish i hadn't tinkered with my set up now...
