BAD DATA, please help

BAD DATA, please help

2006-12-30 by niels_jitterbug

Hi,

My P3 works just fine, but I wanted to update from 3.001 to 3.006.
Since I have a #2004 CPU, I thought I had to update the bootloader as
well ?
Everything I do, I get the same message BAD DATA.
When I start it up holding Func+Page, I get Checksum = B19A.
I play the midi file in cubase, even nudged it a bar. I use a MOTM
micro lite midi interface and send over channel one. I've tried with
and without an extra midi cable from the P3 back to the Micro lite.
I've tried also with P3tools, but that doesn't work either. That can't
receive any data from the P3, nothing happens...

Can someone please help ?
thanks

Niels

There was a change in the bootloader at the same time as I released v3.1.002
to support a different SysEx ID for firmware dumps.
If your P3 is expecting the old SysEx ID, update files with the official ID
wont work.
I can't remember for sure whether any of the kit CPUs went out with the
older ID.
I've uploaded the old patch to Yahoo files, in the Bootloader folder -
SysxIDPatch.syx
See if that works on your P3.

Yes! thanks for your quick problem solving. no more 'BAD DATA'...
I've used MIDIOX to send the Sysex patch, then updated the bootloader
and then the OS to 3.006. Everything works just fine !
