First ready-built run update

First ready-built run update

2003-11-24 by colinfraser_com

Just a quick update for those of you waiting on one of the first
small run of ready-built units (you know who you are, I hope !)...
I'm still waiting for cases from Steve (which is fair enough as he's
doing them for a great price in his spare time), but hope to get the
first one back next week, and the others not too long afterwards.
The final assembly is really only an evenings work per unit, so they
won't take long to get out to you once I've got the cases.
Thanks for your patience so far.

Once I've got the money for the complete units, I'll be placing the
order for the next run of kit PCBs. These don't look likely to be
appearing before January, but hopefully won't be too much longer.
Thanks to those who've paid kit deposits for your patience too.

Cheers,
Colin f

Colin,

Somewhere along the line ive missed any talk of pre-built units. Was it made as an open offer, or otherwise?

Will there be another opatunity for pre-built units, and, if so, what sort of monnies?

Cheers, julian

It was an open offer, but back in July. Only 4 months I suppose, but it
seems like a long time !

I hope so !
The second run of kits will hopefully generate enough capital for me to
get a larger run of ready-built units made. I've also get a potential
offer of help in getting units made in the Far East, which might prove
more economical than Europe.
Prices for that sort of product I can only guess at, but it wouldn't be
worthwhile if they were to be any more expensive than the 'hand made in
the UK' units currently in production, which sold for 444 ukp.
Having said that, a larger run of units means more money involved, so
would really need to be handled on a more professional basis. If I end
up having to hire an accountant, and pay sales tax, P3 might have to go
'boutique' ;-)

Cheers,
Colin f
