Hey folks.

I've just had a kerrazy idea that maybe any of the Manchester based P3 users, but not excluding anyone near or far wishing to travel, could maybe get together on a Sunday in a few weeks for a pleasant afternoon drink...
(I stop at 8 like Kraftwerk did- it's my lucky number).
The idea being that we plan for a monster P3 jam if we can find a suitable location...
Sum greater than the parts, etc.. I did actually buy a P3 t-shirt but don't worry i won't be wearing it as I.D. or printing Team P3 tees for the occasion...

Seriously though, would be great to meet some of the forum crew, swap ideas, sysex dumps even maybe? (that's geek for you!) or even CD's with tracks.
I know Paul has been active on the Youtube front & top stuff
 it is too...
I'm a little slack when it comes to Youtube vids but some are indeed imminent, sort of.

As for Sync issues, Paul indeed did say a good while ago about slaving Live P3, and loads of fun it is too- a more matched performance DAW for P3 than anything else i've experienced. Paul is clearly a P3 Jedi and may well be the Skywalker to Colins Obi-Wan (OB1 really i think..:-)

As for the MOTU interface i've read results of test where it's MIDI latency is 2-3 ms at most and jitter next to nothing so i think you made a good choice there. Though maybe we'll all be going CV/gate soon enough... Back to the "vintage" future.

The ultimate idea though of a meet would be that we plan for a monster P3 jam if we can find a suitable location...

If we really get our arses into gear i have a 5 hour slot in a pro
studio with Neve desk that i would happily devote to us lot to put
assorted synths, etc via multi P3's through their paces...as well as
the desk... and to 2" tape. Now THAT on a video for youtube would something else.

Any interested parties message me and i'll send you my mobile in return, though i'm sure we can post a group message on here of any confirmed date/time/venue, etc. without clogging up the forum...

Cheers,
Kev.

YES ! golly, zomfg

It could be like Madchester version of Different Skies !, but erm, smaller, and mostly the sky is grey, "Different Grey Skies" perhaps? :) Beer will help.

Well I'm up for it, it seems.

The factory boxes are 550 x 240 x 170mm
The weight should be just over 3kg, depending on how much packaging you have
left.

Apologies for late reply. Yep definately up for a pint anytime...best
bet is to call mobile 07977 534 598 and we'll get something organised.
I'm really interested in Live, I've kept with Cubase mainly because I
know it...but its not good in any way with dealing with external MIDI
(At the moment I have P3>MOTU>Cubase>MOTU>Kentons>Analogues and Cubase
is getting confused with MIDI data all the time)
can you send the youtube links again..I would be interested...I'm way
off doing anything that is ready for human consumption at the
moment...still playing, having great fun with a voicelive this
afternoon...great fun but quality control and human rights stop me from
hoisting it onto youtube.

The only problem I have with the Jam is just moving analogue stuff...the
PPG gets ill if you look at it the wrong way let alone move it....I must
admit I was seriously thinking about trading in the 100m for an origin
so I could just have something moveable and reliable...origin and P3
would be fun...havent heard it yet...lot of money but if it does what it
says on the tin.....

Anyway sync-lock should be here next week so I will report back
ASAP...otherwise give me a call on the mobile for a pint...its rare that
I can talk about synths...normally have to go and see James (Synth
Service Centre) in Stoke for thatCheers
