Thanks for that - very helpful. Still consider my P3 to be an absolutely magnificent thing, a really impressive piece of design and real pleasure to own. Very much hope to get a Cirklon sometime as well. Thanks again.

The memory upgrade will have no effect on the ability to update the machine.
When it boots up after you install the extra memory, if you initialise the
memory, it will most likely run normally too.
The only problem with the memx board in the older OS is that there is a
memory bank select register it knows nothing about, so the memory area the
OS sees will be some random part of the expanded memory.
It's not guaranteed to work properly, but it's not guaranteed to fail
either.
You should have no problem if you are just planning to update once the
display is working. The OS bootloader doesn't even look at the main memory.

Most of the activity now is Cirklon related, and moved over to the Sequentix
owner forum on our website.
This Yahoo group still has a good resource of P3-related information, so
it'll stay put until whenever Yahoo pull the plug on groups.

Cheers,

This will not help but I am a massive fan of the P3. It was the perfect
machine for me.
Since receiving the Cirklon I tried to persuade myself the P3 was still
better in some ways.
By for 3 or 4 months I only use the Cirklon.
It is fundamentally superior. But yes the P3 was epic.

Big problem?
