you are definately not going module crazy - this is a modest system

I'd consider the multimode over the moog filter - I have both and i think the low pass on the multi sounds as good and maybe better than the moog, plus you have all the other modes to play with as well. Your system has two low pass filters and no high pass, no bandpass, which i think is missing an opportunity for more complex possibilties

Two VCAs would be normal if you have two VCOs and two filters and two envelopes.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!you have no multiples!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you will need them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I personally would consider a noise sourse, preferably combined with a S/H generator and another LFO, and I have a hard time considering a modular without at least one slew/lag generator with adjustable and preferably CV controllable rise and fall times

I'd consider most of these more crucial than the ring mod, comb filter and second VCO - again a personal view, of course is depends what you want - for me two filters and one VCO makes more sense than 1 filter and two VCOs - I like to start with a simple sound and make it complex, many people would not see the sense of that

  Hello All,

I am currently trying to map out a modular system for myself. I have already emailed Bob
at AS and he has given me some great advice but I thought i'd open it out for other people
to throw in some ideas. I am a producer/engineer (mainly guitar based stuff) and want the
system to act a a processor for external sounds as well as being capable of sound
generation/synthesis. Basically i want versatility. Also, as a footnote i am a huge fan of
the Synthi hence its inclusion and also want the moog filter for a particular project i have
  coming up.

Any comments and feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Here is my list so far:

  RS270 - 3.5mm to 1/4 inch jack convertor
  RS70 - Pre-amp
  RS85 - LFO
  RS95 (x2) - VCOs
  RS180 - VCA
  RS120 - Comb Filter
  RS35 - External Processor
  RS100 - Moog Filter
  RS60 - ADSR
  RS20 - Ring Mod
  RS500e - Synthi Filter
  RS510e - Synthi Trapezoid
  RS165 - Signal Mixer
  RS15 - Case

Is there anything that I have omitted or perhaps i'm going a little module crazy for a
newbie?! Perhaps there are modules made by other manufacturers that would better suit
  my purpose?

  Thanks in advance,

  Dan
