Re: Modding the RS200

in regard to adding banks to sequencers:

You can do this, given the drive method that supplies the pots
(the outputs of the final counter which is being gated by the
banks) isn't near it's maximum load.

The pots and pulse banks themselves aren't so much the culprit
- it's the pulse out are, as they go to the outside world and can, in
theory, be loaded down to the point they crap out.

If one wished to expand the number of banks, I would suggest
they insert a current amplifying buffer on the buss BEFORE the
new pots which will be added. The CD4050 works quite well for
this and has enough jiuce to power 15 banks quite easily.

So, to do this you would need to run the counter outs through a
4050, then through the pots - one side of the pot to the 4050 out,
the other to ground, the wiper to a summing resistor to the final
summing amp, where the outputs of all of the 16 pots are
combined.

Make sure you duplicate the summing amp configuration from
the factory installed banks, or your response will be different in
the ones you add.
