....I have considered the drastic option of butchering the RS10 case to fit its
power supply and board in one of the RS15 cases, giving me 20 sockets in one
RS15, and 10 in the other, and a scrap RS10 chassis.
Not ideal as 10 sockets still isn't enough in one RS15 and then i'm a case down
with the RS10 scrapped and my two RS15's would be full leaving no room for
expansion. Seems 14 sockets in 6U is about right - exactly what newer cases
have! (plus doepfer sockets!)
Anybody got any old cases to sell so i can upgrade my old cases?!!! Or any power
supply parts?
cheers, dan

Subject: [analogue_systems] Power supply shortage in old cases..
Hi,
I've got 2 very old RS15 (1068, 1069) cases and an RS10(1024) which only have 10
Asys type power sockets each - seems i've got a shortage of connections to fill
these cases and also possibly a lack of current even if i physically could plug
everything in by using double-header power cables for low power modules.
Does anyone have any advice on what I can do? I also have some non-Asys modules
like Livewire AFG's (very thirsty), vulcan/mindmeld, bissell connected with
Synovatron adaptors.
I'm really hoping i don't have to buy new cases! I've asked Bob but he's busy
with Musicmesse at the moment so hope someone here can offer some advice in the
meantime.
My RS15 cases have extra PEMs to take another power board in the upper half of
the case but the cases are so old that i don't think the additional power boards
are available any more. Obviously this situation led to newer cases being
upgraded with more Asys sockets
and additional Doepfer sockets.
cheers, Dan
