Re: [analogue_systems] Power supply for a few AS modules

2004-02-12 by Julian

Hi there,

+/- 12v linear, not switched mode (switched are what your computer runs off... linear are the heavy ones with the chunky transformer)

the motm modular, as do most oakley builders use powerone. if your in america, then you may as wel go for one of those, but theyre harder to get hold of across the pond. really any quality linear unit should be fine. as for ampage, dont go too high. to give an idea, the often underpowered doepfer racks use 600ma supplies. power one makes a nice 1.5 amp unit. off the top of my head, the part is somthing like the hbb15-1.5

Subject: [analogue_systems] Power supply for a few AS modules

  Hi friends,

I'm new to this group and to the world of modular synths. I have
found a few AS modules that I want to add to my current synth setup
and plan to build a custom enclosure to house few modules that I'll
need. My question is about the power supply. I noticed AS sells racks
with power supplies but I don't recall seeing any seperate power
supply modules that can be purchased for custom enclosures like the
one I plan to build. Am I missing it or does AS not sell power
supplies seperately? If not is there a power supply that can be
purchased elsewhere that can power these AS modules?

  Thanks in advance!
  ~Gman
