One thing that's overlooked a lot on small systems is a slew limiter/lag processor. This will come in handy if the synth is used primarily as a keyboard performance instrument. While you can obviously get this effect with the ring/string, you might want to slide between notes played on the manual. At minimum, I would suggest : RS-95 VCO (two of them) RS-60 ADSR RS-380 LFO/S+H/NOISE/VCA (two if there's room) RS-110 Multimode filter RS--350 Slew Limiter RS-165 Mixer RS-20 Ring Mod/Mult Terje Winther wrote: > At 18:13 +0000 26.03.04, visualizeedassanta wrote: >> hello, although i have keyboard experence, i am new to the use of >> modular synths. i am looking to purcahse an analogue systems french >> connection within the next six months. i have been told that i will >> need a VCA, a VCO, an envelope generator, and a houseing unit for >> these modules, in addition to the controler itself. if this is the >> case, what other modules would be recomended, if any. > > A filter (VCF) is considered essential. > Next up on the wish list are LFOs, more VCOs, possible a small mixer too. > From there on, you can build as you prefer. > >> also i am >> curious, i can run the vca into an amplifier or mixer, correct? > > Yes, that is correct. >
