Analogue systems

Folks,

I finally worked out my chassis power problem and it was indeed an overtaxed
power supply.  This is an old RS-15 chassis and it appears that the power
supply maxes out at 500ma.  It would take varying amounts of time for the
-12V rail to collapse depending on the modules in the system.  I finally got
a working config by removing an RS-360 and RS-390 and replacing them with
lower power modules.  These modules require > 150ma each so that was using
up most of my power budget.

I guess the word to the wise with the old chassis is to avoid any modules
with > 100ma power draw.  The chassis will work fine with lots of VCAs and
signal mixers (8ma & 5ma, respectively)...
