Analogue systems

For one, anything with an LCD screen requires 5 volts.  There may be others.

One thing I need to point out - A, Sys's power distribution is very well
conceived. Even if you make 5 volts live on a buss populated by modules that
do not require +5, having it there will not present a problem.  It just
won't make it to the circuitry of those modules.

But more to your specific question - one way to tell if a given module
requires 5 volts is by having a look at its power connector just as you
mentioned. I was originally going to outline that inspection process, but
I've reconsidered. It's really dangerous to have this on permanent record
because somewhere down the line someone not having the experience with such
things is going to misread what they are seeing and even though running 5
volts to a module which does need won't cause any damage, anything having to
do with power connection is serious stuff and  best left for a qualified
tech, dealer or by contacting the manufacturer.

The reason the individual power requirements aren't 't listed on the A.Sys
site is that these modules are designed to be used with their own power
system.  When they are, five volts is routed to the proper pins on the
motherboard and those connections are accounted for.  No fuss, no muss!
