Sorry if my last post was unclear but I just re-read your message and 
I get it now.

The multimode filter in this case, is being used as a sine wave 
oscillator. There is no VCO in the line up - just the output from the 
filter going into the comb filter.

You could use the RS95 sine out for this purpose but I made this patch 
pre RS95 so hence the filter being used.

You mean that you use the multimode filter as a vco !?! How can you do
that ?
