the new style

the new style

2010-04-21 by Monroe Eskew

If you look at new modules that have come out relatively recently,
there is a change in the screen printing. The font is bolder and the
AS logo moves around. I wonder if this new style reflects a
manufacturer change or simply an artistic decision.

Also I wonder, some modules have been upgraded, i.e. RS95e, as seen by
the new graphics-- have the guts been changed as well? Are the
circuits changed at all, new components, anything?

And are modules with the old style printing still being made?

I hear Bob Williams looks at this group sometimes so if know one else
knows, perhaps he can answer.

Cheers,
Monroe

I noticed that when my RS-440 arrived recently.

I'm not sure which design I prefer, but for sure I'm not keen on the
fact that I now have two styles in my modular. I really liked the way
everything matched!

You should see my system, at least 10 different manufacturers. Nothing
matches :o)

that's what my Doepfer case is for! :)

the ASys case was a study in purity of design - no longer, sadly.
