Hello to all !

Hello to all !

2003-02-17 by milouz2003 <am@zehc.net>

Hello to all !

My name is Arnauld and I am the moderator of that group.
I bought an RS system 1 and some modules about 1 year ago and they
made me discovering the incredible world of analogue sound synthesis.
Because I'd like to share that big pleasure and some knowledges about
modular systems and RS systems in particular, I decided to open a
Yahoo group.
This is just the beginning of that group because I work as a system
administrator for an Internet Provider and up till now, I was very
short in time. But now, I have much time to take care of that group
and my wish is to develop it so that it could contribute to sharing
between users and to improve the great modular systems made by
Analogue Systems. In particular, I'd like us to share patchs, because
there are very poor informations about these on the Internet.
I will try to do my best for well moderating that group and making the
site attractive but perhaps I will make some mistakes, so, don't
hesitate to help me with your advices. My only goal is we could share
that big pleasure to use modular systems.

Your faithfully,

Arnauld

hi arnauld,
if i can do anything to help, just let me know....i,too
have a system 1 and like it a lot!in the future i will
expand it with the more exotic modules of the AS
range(bode frequency shifter,etc...).
an idea to get you started:use the option "promote
group" or "invite members" to invite bob williams to
your group.this way you'll get direct feedback from
the AS head!
i did this with my group, too!(for dieter doepfer)
bakis.

hello there,

last year i bought some rs modules to power up my doepfer a100.
they complement each other quite well. i like the enhanced
features of some modules, like adsr with repeat and vco
with shape control. the trapezoid generator is especially
nice, a really weird piece of hardware.

best wishes

Really ? I would like to buy one (I'm interested by the EMS filter too)
but one problem with AS site is that it's not possible to listen short
demo of a particular module. I will try to make demo of modules I have and
I'll put them on the group.
A module I have is the 3 FB (rs360) and it sounds very fine ! But, as I
said before, I will upload some demo mp3 soon.

Thx for your contributions,

hello arnauld,

the trapezoid is really strange, but i like it.
i think, bakis owns a real vcs3. unfortunately i
never played a real one and can't tell, how
good the rs510e is, compared with the original.

i also have the rs500e filter, but i haven't used it much
since i got it. so many modules, so little time ;-)

a question about the rs360. how many power connectors does
it have? i ordered a rs360 for a doepfer frame, but then they
told me, that the rs360 is the only rs module which can't
be built into a doepfer frame.

best wishes

i agree with you about the repeat function of the RS
INTEGRATOR envelopes.it's really usefull!!!(and
something that my doepfer lacks...).
anyone has the expensive freq. shifter???
opinions about it's sound?

the rs360 is a good reason for buying a rs case.
this is something i'll do next month.

hey arnauld,
try telling bob williams to put a link of your group
in the mainpage of the integrator website!this will
really help the group!!!!
bakis.
ps:i have advertise your group in the
ANAMOD,DOEPFER_A100 and the ANALOG yahoo
groups!!!!(hence the many new members...)i will post a
link to your group in other
groups,too:GEARHEAD,VNTAGESYNTHREPAIR and
OLDSYNTHS.so,expect many more new members in the next
days!and upload a picture of a RS8500 SYSTEM in the
mainpage of the group!!!it will look cool!

That's the same for me :-)

I do not know because it was already plugged in my rack. I'll try to
have a look so I could tell you.
Anyway, one solution is to order an RS case with the "Doepfer Power
Supply Board".

That's a very good idea !
However, yesterday, I sent him an email to invite him on the group. I'd
like him to be very present here but I still wait for his reply. In the
same way, I wait for his agreement to put RS system picture on the group.

hello, my name is ollie and I am in Canada and I have a RS Integrator and looking to buy many more modules...they blow my mind....

Does anyone know if the Synthi filter and generator, RS500e and RS510e are available anywhere in North America?

Yes, I LOVE that feature on my EGs!

Also, the dual output coupled with a decay/release cv in allows a little
trick that Bob clued me in to at the NAMM show this year.

If you take the second output and run it through an attenuator, then back
to the decay cv input, the attenuator becomes a shaper control!

No problem, it's a neat trick (I'm a sucker for env shaping). Bob said
that there's all kinds of little stuff like this built into the ASys
modules but that there simply wasn't enough room in the manual for them!

It would be neat to have a "power users" section on the site where this
stuff can be revealed.

Oh, and you guys are going to FLIP over the new delays!

hi brandon,
you mean the attenuator becomes a shaper control of
the "waveform"if you use the adsr as an audio osc???

Sure, or of the envelope contour shape in normal adsr
operation.

Not as radical as, say, a square to sine shaper or somesuch,
but it will change the curve of the shape to bow out or in
depending on the polarity of the attenuator.

If you'd like, I can make a picture if it'll help.
