Keyboard tracking

2004-07-25 by stuadh

Hi,

I've just bought my new minisystem (2 days old), and I'm having
great fun playing with it. However, how faithfully should it track
the keyboard?

  I'm using a Doepfer MCV4 as a midi-CV interface but if I tune C3
to my other instruments, C4 is a bit flat but managable, but by the
time you reach F4, it is quite noticable. I have given ample time
for the oscillator to warm up.

Is there somwthing wrong, or is this just a limitation of
analogue oscillators?

Yours Aye

It's the midi to CV. There are ways to adjust that box, but the
instructions are a bit hard to follow. You might consider a Kenton Pro Solo
or the A Sys unit. they track better

Thanks,

I'm afraid I'm commited to the MCV4 (I can't afford the others) but
I'll get into the instructions in greater depth and try and work it
out.

I've had a twiddle with the gubbins inside the MCV4 and it is
much better now. Cheers for the tip.
