RS 70 - any good?

RS 70 - any good?

2004-08-22 by stuadh

I'm trtying to decide between the RS 70, and the Doepfer A-119.
I will be using it primarily as a preamp to bring audio (and CV)
from a S2000 sampler and from my Mac soundcard (Audiowerk
8).

I've read a few people complain about the A-119, saying that it
distorts the incoming audio too easily and that it works best with
compressed signals (a bit fiddly if I'm using the S2000).

Does anyone have anything good or bad to say about the RS
70?

Cheers,

Stuadh

hello stuadh,

i don't have an rs70, but i also don't have any problems
with my a119's. i almost never compress signals in front of
the a119 and nevertheless use them frequently.
those modules with preamps are relatively cheap,
so nobody can really expect that they sound like a high quality
channelstrip, no matter if they are from analogue systems,
doepfer or any other manufacturer. maybe someone elso can
say more about the rs70 ?

best wishes
