Display documents/ text lines using Midi

2008-04-19 by rpcfender

Hi all

I created another little app that some of you might find useful (it is also stored on the FCB1010 uno group).

Link in the Applications directory

Here is a copy of the note I sent the uno group

It now has 2 modes.

The text line as before except that the text editing should be easier.
With the editing, in either mode, you can use a right click to access a menu.
You can convert the first 126 lines of a text file.
SO if you have already written the list in the previous version you can convert the PatchList.txt into the new format and delete the file
You can create the text in your favorite editor save it and load it in.
You can also save it as a text file.
You can turn off the number display - but it is still displayed in the title bar.

The other mode is a list of files, performance notes or lyrics, to be displayed.
To edit you can type in the filename or you can grab the file name using the browse option in the menu.

It will load txt files and even Rich text files for colour and formatting.
I have included a chord/lyric that has been formatted so you can check it out.
It won't load pictures though.

As files are often bigger than a screen full of text, Midi Value 126 is page up and Midi Value 127 is page down .
So you can use FCB switches to use your feet to go back and forward through the document.

It now has an Midi Thru so you can echo what is coming in.

For advanced users, if you place another copy of the program in a different directory (so a different .ini is created) you can have more that one version of the program running at once.
Each could be in a different mode or loaded with different Rich text files .

It should load back the to same position ready to go (except if it is partially off the screen).

Have fun and I hope someone might find it useful.
Let me know if you find some "undocumented features" (ie bugs)

All the best

Royce

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
