I couldnt get the cubase learn mode to work as expected by itself

I try the LEARN mode as describe in the manual, but without any luck.

Do i need to setup anything else? MIDI cables?

I'm asking about Midi cables, cos with Ableton Live 7, i don't have the BCR2000 connected with Midi cables, just the USB and it works wonderful.

Any help would be very apreciated!
