Re: BCR and transport control

2009-04-16 by rpcfender

Hi Susan
sorry about the lack of reply, but I thought that someone would be more knowledgeable about FL.

There are standard Midi messages for 'Play', 'Stop", 'Continue' (it fact there are a couple of ways to do it)
Here is a good Midi site to explain them
http://www.somascape.org/midi/tech/spec.html
You should look at the System Real Time Messages for single byte message (the easiest)

If you need a more sophisticated way (ie harder) you should use MIDI Machine Control (MMC) Commands
Use gloabal Id of $7F
Play = $F0 $7F $7F $06 $02 $F7
Stop = $F0 $7F $7F $06 $01 $F7

All is possible with the BCR/BCF
I don't know if FL reacts to System Real Time or MMC, but a simple test for System Real Time is Start = $FA and Stop = $FC
Uses Mark's editor for the Buttons on the lower right side, 51 and 52, and use the Learn setting and just have $FA in the message

Hope this helps

Royce

I can also control it using ACT, but in this particular case I want to use a standard "all controls" BCR2000 preset. Is it possible to program the 4 User buttons as standard transport controls, if there is such a thing?
