What is probably happening is that the preset select < & > buttons have
been 'taken over' by preset 3.

On the BC if you don't need groups you can reassign the group buttons
to output Midi messages.
This is true for the STORE LEARN EDIT EXIT buttons as well.
This is also true for the Preset select buttons.
This gives you an extra 10 buttons to dominate the universe with

Copy Preset 3 to another location where it won't get in the way (Preset
32?) and copy Preset 1 to Preset 3 to remove the offending preset. (They
may be a way to initialise the BC by the front panel - anyone know?)

If you can't copy Preset 3 because the STORE button has also be taken
over then you will need a PC editor to help you do it.
Either my editor (File section) or Mark's (his website) will do this.

All the best
