Re: [bc2000] Slow encoder? Resolution problem or defective unit?

2012-03-03 by Martin Ator

It either needs taking apart and cleaning or there is crappy solder on it's contacts. I loaded up some pictures to the group showing crap solder.
Well, that's my guess anyway.
There is some info on the web somewhere of some guy taking the encoders apart in his Waldorf MicroQ for cleaning .

Subject: [bc2000] Slow encoder? Resolution problem or defective unit?

I have a slow encoder number 34. I have used bcmanager to make sure the resolution is set to the 96 standard. If I turn it fast it requires many rotations, however if I turn the encoder slowly it requires only one rotation. Something tells me either I'm not using bcmanager to edit the resolution of the encoder properly or I have a defective unit? All other encoders are configured the same, however they work normally. Any help is appreciated:)
