Since I cannot find any valid instructions on how to link a BCF-2000 with BC Manager via USB I finally managed it this way: Create the new syx file with BC-Manager. The use the very old BC Edit from Behringer to upload it into the device. I have an old notebook with XP on it which I use for special purposes; therefore I can easily use the old Java 1.4.5. It works in most cases. Sometimes the BC Edit takes a couple of minutes to handshake or does not accept the modified file, then I play around with it a bit (have not found any systematic reason behind this behavior) and it works. I have also found that most devices cannot use more than one channel. Therefore I cut the encoder groups to 1 per Preset and distributed the codes of other 3 encoder groups among other presets, also faders. I now have 16 faders with different addresses instead of 8 to control Moving Heads. Otherwise an action in a preset may show unwanted effects on other controls due to multiple address allocations. I kept the installed Presets 1-6 , since P1 is also for configuration purposes. I started at P10, since I do not need more than 6.
