Seems like you're missing the obvious, so forgive me if this something you've tried or that you're avoiding:

In the MIDI tab of your Ableton preferences, select the BCR from the drop-down list of Control Surfaces. Assign it's Input and Output (I use BCR2000 Port 1) and click "Dump".

That should do what you're wanting, cleanly/simply.

Hi k5kip

Thanks for your reply.

I did try your preset... in fact, it was the first thing I did try but I have a serious bug somewhere in my gear.

I can't get BC manager to work at all. No matter what I do, it refuses to work. I have tried the Behringer software and more problems... I can get everything to work EXCEPT to load presets into the BCR. I've tried different modes and even loaded an old version of Java (v 1.4.2) but no luck.... nothing loads. The only software I can get to work is sysex loader which can't split your patch as you have combined 21+22 (it only reads it as a single patch and you can only send it to one preset eg 21 or 22 or whatever else you want).

In the end I gave up and decided to make my own but I ran into more problems with loading info into the rotary push encoders as per my previous message.

I have happily avoided Midi for many, many years and now it has come to bight me in the backside :-/ ...

I have decided to start from scratch. I re-loaded the BCR presets into the presets of my BCR one at a time using sysex loader and have loaded v1.07 firmware which is what it came with. If that's the wrong firmware please let me know (I did have v1.10 loaded but thought that might be the cause of problems).

I feel like an idiot on this forum but there's not much information in the Behringer/Ableton manuals.... you guys have seen these problems before and have got things to work so well... like Princess Leia said a long time ago "Help me Obi-Wan... You're my only hope!!!" :-)

back to bashing my head against the wall!
