I think it's more likely to do with and issue with the particular USB
chipset.
 

Well, I Can Agree Here, But Still That Would Be A Driver Conflict. The Fast
Way To Try It Is on A Clean windows Install In Your same Machine. Otherwise,
You can Tell Us The Exact Error Address In The BSOD 
 
 
It is installed on a dedicated Athlon 2400+/1GB XP Home, no service packs (
I don't recall any affecting USB...)  DAW computer, with MOTU
PCI324/24i/2408II, Turtle Beach  Santa Cruz, Frontier Design Tranzport.  It
works on Sony Vegas and Acid software.  Nothing else dies ever.  will force
a failure and note the exact error message/module/address again.
