Thanks a lot for that. It seems from elsewhere there's been a few issues. My unit was making some scary popping noises before the final bang and flash. I bought it from Germany.. musicstore.com and I have to say their response was rapid and they sent me a returns label to get it sent back to Germany from Ireland for no cost to me this end. That kind of customer service I can get to like. I'll let you know what happens.. Cheers Patrick. --- In bc2000@yahoogroups.com, "Royce" <rpcfender@...> wrote: > > There seemed to be a bad batch a while ago where the USB connection died. > My BCR USB has just gone on the fritz and I have heard of a couple of others in a similar situation. > > I am yet to pull it apart as it has been intermittent. I have never heard of bad batches but then again I know nothing about the product other than owning one myself. If it's a month old I suppose you can still apply for warranty. > > > > --- In bc2000@yahoogroups.com, "Patrick" <patrick@> wrote: > > > > > > Hi there, > > > I thought I'd post my problem in case anyone else has had it and can shed any light on it. > > > My BCF2000 is less than a month old and has been working great. However I turned it on tonight and there were popping sounds so I quickly turned it off. Turning back on they were still there and then the big one and now the unit is dead. It hasn't been exposed to damp and anything else so I'm wondering if it has been a common fault on batches etc. It sounded like power supply and the resulting smell is coming from around the power button. > > > Anyone else suffered similar recently? > > > Thanks a million guys. > > > Cheers > > > Patrick > > > > > >
