Bc2000 (for the BCF2000 & BCR2000)

Yes, BCEdit requires Java 1.4.  If you run it with a newer version of Java it doesn't work (crashes often).

For myself, I tried having two different version of Java installed on my machine and the run BCEdit with Java 1.4 (when you run a java app you can specify the version to run in) but I couldn't get this to work (BCEdit still crashed).  What I ended up doing is removing the latest version of Java and just using Java 1.4 on my machine and BCEdit now runs.

I have the Behringer supplied editor... and I have not once... after
dozens of attempts and help from other people on here, gotten it to
work. Someone told me about using an older Java... I tried it multiple
times... no luck. I'd love to use it... but if it's gonna be this much
trouble... well you know. Unless there another one developed somewhere
out there... I need help with this thing.
