Wavestation

2015-09-20 by Scott Stanley

Hello everyone,

I have a Wavestation AD. I can't seem to find any pre-compiled presets. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I could get one or how to make easily make one?

Also, I wanted to ask... and please, excuse my lack on knowledge of sysex programming but, is there, or could there be any way to take a file or extract the information from another sysex software editor template (such as SoundDiver, SoundQuest, Unison, etc...) and then translate it so each parameter can just be assigned to one of the controls on the BCR2000?

also, I realize that there are most likely less and less of a market of individuals using these types of hardware, true sysex (not just CC) editor's but, I am always a little surprised that there are so few available out there. I would happily pay more money for one if it was:

-simple to program (open source?)

-flat (I have no idea why Behringer opted for the 2 level of enconders design. It should be a single flat surface, especially since you are more or less forced to use stickers to label it. However, I think instead it should have rows of oled displays that tell you the parameter per page and value when it is changing.

-smaller (I don't require such large pots/encoders)

The challenge for me is that I have a lot of pieces that would really benefit from a controller like the BCR2000

TG77
WaveStationAD
Tetra
EX8000
E6400
Emax II
Mirage

to name a few... but, having to have a separate BCR2000 unit per synth is not ideal and switching front templates because of the design would be a major pain. Also, using an iPad, or software editor, removes the tactile element that I am seeking to have with these synths.

I have seen a few mods such as these:

Which seem to give the single level element but, still, you must use stickers.

I am ok with electronics and I can handle some programming but, I don't feel savvy enough to build one of the MIDIBox units either:

So, does the hardware sysex editor I am looking for exist? Would Behringer ever make a BCR3000 perhaps with some of these features?

Just curious if anyone else has been searching or has any educated insight on this.

Thanks,

-Scott
