Ah yes, sorry I should have mentioned that.

The attached gives some info on the TX81Z 1.6 ROM update but I doubt that is causing the full buffer messages.

It's more likely some of the encoder resolutions are set a bit fine for your setup.

Running the template through DXM does not cause this problem.

WOW!
ok, so, i sortof have it working now.
as i said before, i have never before owned a TX81z or a BCR (years worth of other stuff tho :D)
whilst factory reseting and trying the preset dump again (a few times) i started changing the BCR "user modes"
the "U" modes never worked for me, but as soon as i selected the first of the "S" modes, boom!
working!
AWESOME!
the caveat is that im getting "midi buffer full" messages very quickly, but what the hell, its working!
thanks for your help getting me to this point!
any advice for conquering "midi buffer full" error?
would the 1.6 os help at all?

all the best!

ok yeah, maybe its just not going to work for me for whatever reason!
this is driving me crazy!
it would seem i have the presets loaded to the BCR, it does indicate its transmitting the same sysex messages via midi ox/monitor etc.
i have the TX set for exclusive "on" and set to channel 1, have also tried omni)
it just does not seem to be working (except to indicate a "midi data error" upon power up, no other midi seems to be getting to it after that point. very frustrating! :D
it will give that error regardless of what receive channel is set on the TX, upon clearing the error no changes seem to take place when modifying BCR knobs etc.
i have os version 1.5 on the TX, could that be a factor?

Assuming you are using the BCR in USB mode, that is you have connected a USB lead between the BCR and your PC, then the green USB mode light is permanently lit on the BCR.

When MIDI parameter change data is received by the TX it will show the parameter changes on its LCD display. There is no other indication of MIDI data reception on the TX.

Thanks for that, Jon
perhaps this is an additional thing you may be able to answer.?
should the BCR indicate via green LED that midi is transmitting?
as it is right now when i turn a knob, no LED lights to indicate midi leaving the BCR.
i do get a "midi data error" on the TX (when powering on the BCR) but the "play/perform" light never indicates any midi reception from the BCR. (it does however seem to indicate note data from my sequencer)

i guess my question is does the TX indicate midi sysex via "play/perform" and does the BCR show an LED for midi thats being transmitted by its knobs?

i apologize in advance for the nebulous or informal wording methodology of my post. :D

Apologies - the download link is http://www.fm-alive.com/pages/dxm4.aspx

Just click the download button, then Agree to the legal stuff and DXM will install and run on your PC.

Hi jon,

Thanks for the link, but is DX manager installable on PC?
I can't figure out how to do this.
The .Application extension doesn't seem to be recognized by W7.

Cheers

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback.

How did you load the presets ? If it was with my DX manager app. then you should be able to see all the preset settings in its BCR editor.

You can download DXM from my site at http://www.fm-alive.com/pages/dxm.aspx.

There's help on setting up the BCR editor - just press F1 when it loads.

Hi there, Jon
first thanks for creating and posting such a helpful resource with the presets you uploaded.
ive been trying to get my BCR working with my TX81z but something just doesn't seem to be working.
when i have the bcr plugged into the TX81z it will give me a "midi data error" but never seems to control the unit after clearing the error.
i do have exclusive enabled and memory protect off.
i downloaded and installed your presets to my bcr and they all seem to be there but cannot figure out which one is for the TX81z.
is there any additional insight you could provide me in my quest?

thanks again and all the best!
