Subject: [bc2000] usb port repair?
Hi, I bought a BCR2000 knowing that the usb port connection won't work (midi connection is good however), but I wonder if I can restore usb functionality in some way.
If I accidentally touch the chassis with the ground of the usb connector it makes some little sparks.
I checked with a VOM and found that there are about 1.5 AC volts between the chassis and the ground on the usb connector... is this normal?
Opening the unit I noticed that there's a solder joint between pads instead of where it should be and inductor (L4? unknown value).
Are yours boards the same as mine, with this solder blob?
Thank you!
